With more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Dr John Gilmour brings exceptional leadership, compassion, and strategic insight to his role as Chair of the City of Logan Charitable Trust.
A Physiotherapist by profession, John has dedicated his career to improving health outcomes and supporting people experiencing disability and social disadvantage. He spent over three decades with the Mater Hospitals in Brisbane, including 12 years as part of the Executive Leadership Team, before serving as CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland from 2018 to 2022.
John’s governance experience spans more than 35 years, serving on multiple boards across the health and not-for-profit sectors. He currently holds several significant leadership roles, including:
Board Chair, Help Enterprises – supporting people with intellectual disability across South East Queensland
Board Chair, Karuna Hospice Services Ltd – providing specialised home-based palliative care in Brisbane
Board Chair, Holy Cross Services Ltd – delivering commercial services in the health and aged-care sectors to create employment for people with disability and disadvantage
A Doctorate graduate from the University of Queensland (2002) and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (2015), John was awarded Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2018 for his outstanding service to the community through leadership in not-for-profit health infrastructure and social impact.
His wealth of experience, commitment to inclusive care, and deep community focus make him a valued and inspiring leader within the City of Logan Charitable Trust.
