A thriving community needs more than roads and buildings. It needs music, creativity, and soul. That’s why The City of Logan Charitable Trust is proud to award a $1,000 grant to the newly established Logan City Orchestras, helping them strike a powerful chord in the heart of the community.
Founded by passionate volunteers, the orchestra is made up of over 70 members – most of whom live or work in Logan. Spanning a wide range of ages and backgrounds, these musicians have come together to create something extraordinary. To date, the orchestra has relied on loaned percussion instruments from Canterbury College and rented equipment to bring their performances to life.
This grant will go directly toward purchasing much needed instruments and equipment, allowing members to play with pride and consistency. It’s a vital step in building a sustainable future for the orchestra and ensuring that music continues to echo through Logan.
The Logan City Symphony Orchestra made its dazzling debut on Friday 25 July, performing to a sold out audience. Among those in attendance were Board Directors Stewart Fleming and Mayoress Ali Raven, who described the atmosphere as “incredible.”
Supporting local music doesn’t just keep the arts alive, it inspires the next generation, strengthens community bonds, and brings joy to people from all walks of life. With this grant, Logan City Orchestras are empowered to grow, perform, and enrich the cultural fabric of our city.
